I finished reading through the Harry Potter series again over break, and I have become a devout H/G fan...

Granted... it's also 3 AM in the morning...

Spoilers... Spoilers... )

Yah for Harry Potter! The next scenes from the movies look great and I can't wait for the book but it's starting to feel long now. I think it has more to do with the waiting than the actual storyline.

I didn't get hooked onto it for awhile, my brother was the one who avidly read them - waited at midnight sells for the books - all that jazz. Not me, I wanted nothing to do with this fad. I dislike fads on principle.

Then it came to the first movie. My mother had taken my brother to the Pokemon 2k movie, so this was "my turn" to drive him and take him to the next children's movie of the year - Harry Potter. I got home from college early, and because I simply dislike watching movies that stem from books without reading the books first, I started in on the first book. I finished it within 3 hours, before we left for the movie. It was a simple, delightful story that was uncomplicated in design. It lacked a certain finesse and detail that I had grown accustomed to thanks to all the Robert Jordan I was reading at the time (damn that Wheel of Time series), but I really enjoyed the read.

The movie was that much more delightful to me, and upon returning home I started into the Chamber of Secrets - my mom succumbed shortly thereafter and now all three of us await movies and books. However, none of us stand in midnight lines. Nor do we *have* to see the movie on release date, within the first week is sufficient.
