[Musical Composition; Measure 1]

It has been an interesting few days, to be sure. I haven't the faintest which of us came first (really, it's a paradox not quite unlike the chicken and the egg), although perhaps it doesn't quite matter who came first now that we've all come together and ended up in the same place, minus Carlisle and Esme, but I digress ( Read more... )

Your age might be a little more believable if you didn't write like a fucking early twentieth century romantic.

Jonathan Coulton and Mussorgsky. Take that.

Haven't the faintest what you mean, Matt.

Such barbaric tastes for one so young. Try some Sinatra and Armstrong, young one.

No, I suppose you wouldn't, would you?

But I prefer Harry James and Duke Ellington.

I am as oblivious as Jasper about oranges.

Duke is magnificent. Perhaps you are not such a lost cause yet.

Jasper?

You were assuming I was? Chick Corea, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, I know my jazz.

Major Jasper Whitlock, now Jasper Whitlock Hale. My brother, if you will.

I was beginning to wonder. Ah, but were you there to live through it? Now that is the question indeed.

A major? Which army?

Now that's not fair. At least I'm here for Muse and Santana and Webber.

The United States army.

You don't think so? Ah, Muse.

I meant more which war.

No I don't. Of those three you prefer Muse?

Ah. The Civil.

Does that make me a lesser vampire in your eyes?

The Civil? In America?

Lestat made a screaming rock band~

Indeed. He was part of the confederate army before he turned.

Back to calling me names? At least be a little more creative.

But--he doesn't look more than twenty! And he was a major?

No, Lestat really did create a heavy metal band, it's why the other vampires hated him so much. I hardly think liking Muse is unacceptable, they're much better. And they're British.

He was. Our little Jasper was an incredible force. Still is, if you know when to ask him and for what.

Ah. I hardly think a heavy metal band would cause vampire rivalry in my world, but who am I to argue? Indeed they are.

That's so cool! I've never met a military major before.

You should make one anyway. You seem to enjoy composing music.

And especially one from the Civil War, I take it?

I never said that I composed music.
