Well, the past few days have been awesome.
Turns out that James could come into the U.S. after all, so he came down for the weekend. It was his first time in Seattle too, so I got to be his personal tour guide-type-person.
We had a really fun party at our house Friday night; there were a bunch of people, and it was pretty much craziness. At least until the cops came. Really, they only came to ask us to turn the music down, but everyone kinda freaked out and left. Some people stayed, and the party was revived for a little bit, but that died down eventually.
Saturday, James and I had to wake up early so that I could get to the volunteer orientation at the Seattle Aquarium. Sadly, I found out half-way through the orientation that my classes kept me from being able to volunteer because of the strict time shifts. Oh well, at least we got to go to the aquarium for free. After that, I showed James Pike Place Market and the surrounding area. Luckily the sun came out during that time, so we had nice weather. We then continued on to the some of the shopping centers to look at stores and stuff. James was really excited about the Abercrombie store because they don’t have them outside of the U.S., and he likes their clothes, so it was an experience for him. We wondered quite a bit downtown, got tired, and headed back home. Then, Saturday night, James, Sathi, Sridevi, Hollie, and I went and got some pumpkins to carve. We had so much fun; playing with the mush, coming up with designs, saving the seeds, and all that stuff. Sridevi and James had never done it before either, so that made it even more special. I love carving pumpkins! They all turned out really well too, and are sitting out on our porch now.
Today I showed James around the U-District a little. We went to U-Village, walked through some of campus, and then I made him try Pho for the first time. He took the bus back up to Vancouver tonight, which was sad, but I’ll see him soon, so it’ll be ok.
Think I'm going to go eat some pumkin seeds that Kathleen's been cookin'.
