Lately I've been getting into K-Indie stuffs. Probably since nowadays that's the only stuff I'll actually listen to. Especially Misty Blue. Maybe my ears matured into sensitive old ones that can't stand glitchy BWEERRR BWEERRRR whatever sounds, and this stuff, boring half the time, has a nice, easy-going, mellow sound. I'm good with those.
Yikes I swore to myself I'd sleep a bit earlier, but here I am.
Yet again I'm feeling another stupid cold in my throat, in all its itchiness. Damnit. It's as if something out there refuses to see me healthy. I wash my hands constantly these days due to all this clay work, and I *still* get cooties. Gaaaaaagh what a world.
Polymer clay news: I've been working on the stuff every. Single. Day. It's pretty crazy, but in a fun way. Thus far I've been making Cthulu heads, mini Tuxedosams in assorted rainbow colors, 2-3 layer ombre cakes topped with ice cream and drizzled icing (the last poorly, but still not bad for a newb). And I'm trying to branch out into more monsters and Filipino desserts since I haven't seen any Filipino polymer clay desserts thus far. Which is a total insult because their desserts are full of rainbowy goodness!! Well, more with purple, orange, green, yellow, and a bit of red, but still colorful! I did made an ube cream roll cake with taro frosting and bits of mango. If only I could make this in real life lol. It's possible, but until then--polymer food it is. I think I'll strictly stick to Filipino foods, or at least foods my family and I have grown up eating, so I can also work on more cool stuff. Desserts are cool and all, but it's been done so many times, especially Western and Japanese/Chinese foods, so I want to try other foods not really thought of for polymer clay.
... well. One step at a time, at least. I still have requests from my students, a few teachers, and even have a potential commission waiting for me back home. ^.^
I also have to be careful since lately all that detail work's making my shoulders sore.
But yeah--I can't believe I didn't get into polymer clay sooner!! Been going nuts over it ever since. Though I am stuck on certain requests, like making little vases--I was asked to make about 3-4 vases and I dunno how to do those yet. ~_~ Still looking for tutorials for a simple one, but blegh they're all complex artsy fartsy stuffs. But aaah, hope I can get them done by Saturday. I'm still pretty slow at making my stuff. Also the hairdryer I've been relying on conked out on me, so I might have to get a new hair dryer... uhh. I just want something that works long-term or at least for the next couple of months.
I know I mentioned "reconnections" earlier, but technically not so; that is, I've already reconnected with this friend some while back, but it's much different compared to when I was younger. Although I do hang around on the computer on my free time now, this time I'm piddling away on my art projects or journals, or reading junk if not searching stuff online or watching movies. I used to just be able to sit and chat with friends and random people for hours, but I seem more restless, wanting to do more fun stuff I like than waiting for some shmuck (the random people, not my few friends XD) to reply. Plus the older we get, the more things we have to do irl, so I totally understand when people go missing to get their shiz done. At least I have stuff to do that doesn't end up with me banging my head about the same old stuff I rant about. But it's an old friend, the few I barely have anymore, so it always makes me happy to get in touch with a familiar person that doesn't just notice me because I make art stuff and THEN give me comments.
Plus I also feel I'm at a point where making new friends is not necessary anymore. When it happens, it happens, and vice versa. Plus I get lazy trying to figure people out, which cause new people confusion and may consider me insensitive or indifferent. But fuck it, I slowly starting not to care so much what others think... depending on the situation. xD Work-related's a different story, but when it comes to who I am, blegh. Who cares?
I also managed to get ahold of my nephew! :D Turns out he was just busy with highschool and dodging all the skanks trying to grab him. XD Be good, nephew! Get that future! Not them skanks!
Oh yeah, Sam's paperwork passed!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D That was too awesome beyond words!! I forgot if I announced it here, but here it goes anyway! Given, we still have to wait for the next part, but it's within this month for the next part of the process. Supposedly the waiting periods from now on are shorter, which is I guess alright, but ugggh must finish sooner! xD;; I have so much to do it's crazy. I wanted to get things done by June/July, but it looks like I can't go home til Sept/Oct. CRAP. I didn't want this to happen, but it sounds like this is the way it goes. >_<
I need to dance more. That crap's fun as hell.
Um. Hrmm. I was also way slow on the Matrix plot. Too embarrassing on my part. Oops.
Blagh I better crash. G'night!
EDIT: Oh, I did mention the paperwork. lol. xD Well, I'm still relieved and happy about it. 8 months we waited for that stuff. 8. MONTHS. Gaaaaagh the crazy.
