Seriously, who uses VHS anymore? I mean really. Distance Ed course sent me two VHS tapes to watch so I hauled out the VCR (circa 1980) from the cabin in Wiltondale. Hooked it up today to watch the tapes and it wouldn't play. Luckily my Aunt Roxanne has a VCR, must've been one of the last ones ever made since it looks pretty new. So I watch a couple of "episodes" for my business course. Turns out it's just a few segments from some old management training videos (also circa 1980). I can see why it's not on a DVD. Argh! I shouldn't have taken two distance ed courses.
Oops. Almost forgot to rant about how people who don't love their pets shouldn't be allowed to have one. My neighbour's dog has been tied to the same length of rope (the kind that allows it to run a short distance along a guiding rope between two trees) for the last 8 years at least. The only time it gets out of this ellipsis of familiarity is the few times the rope broke, probably after years of chafing. Now the poor animal has a rut worn into the earth in front of it's house that Daffy Duck would be proud of with all his years of comic pacing. Seriously folks, it's a rut nearing on a foot deep I'd say.
Ironically, the poor mutt's name is "Cuddles" and I'm quite sure it probably thinks the word "cuddles" means something like "shut up barking at the sky you dumb animal" since it hasn't been cuddled in about a hundred (dog) years.
