"A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes..."
I am thrilled beyond the point of productivity at this point, so I need to just blog it all out.
I got aggressive and dug around to find an e-mail for a higher power over at Turning Point--the local organization that reaches out to victims of domestic/ sexual assault/ violence. I e-mailed the executive director, Kim, who responded promptly this morning, telling me to fill out a volunteer packet (check) and inquiring about my availability as far as a meeting to discuss V-Day event potential. I explained that I'm most available on Wednesdays & Thursdays, and, for extra measure, let her know that this week is completely open after 11am on Wednesday. She's set a meeting for me for 11am on Thursday!!! I'm setting up a haircut for Wednesday afternoon, ironing my blouse (hell, I may even purchase a new one!), and looking into specifics on the different V-Day events.
I'm prepared to research, outline, print off, provide references... the list goes on.
I'm terrified of looking like a far-too-fresh young thing, so I'm ready to float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. I need them to see that I am five steps beyond capable and prepared.
I could truly be on the road to auditions and production. This is serious business! I could be setting up screenings of documentaries, workshops, the works along with Vagina Monologues-- although, of course, the monologues are my primary focus.
This could be big. This means SO much to me. THIS IS IT!
