He didn’t open his mouth, the words wouldn’t come. Dean had already made his choice and it hadn’t been Sam.
This idea that from a certain perspective (read: Sam's), Dean left him by not coming with him. Dean chooses John and hunting over Sam. It's such a simple spin, but such a paradigm-shifting one. And so very SAM.
Have I mentioned in the last 12 hours how badly I want Sam to run into Sandy again? Why must there be things like law school standing between you and the ultimate SPN+OC crossover ever? I mean, how ironic is that? That LAW SCHOOL should slow down the re-colliding of the houses of Winchester and Cohen?

One of the things I love best about our show is how they give us all of these really wonderful dynamics to play around with. Sam and Dean both have their own perceptions and opinions and neither of them is more right than the other. Oh, the things it all does to my poor ickle brain!
Stupid law school. It really needs to get its priorities in order.

*hugs the angsty boys*
Good job capturing some serious pain in a short amount of space. I hurt for both boys here.
Favorite lines:
“You can’t come here anymore, Dean.”
Such a short, seemingly simple line of dialogue, and yet it breaks my heart.
He didn’t open his mouth, the words wouldn’t come. Dean had already made his choice and it hadn’t been Sam.
It sucks for both boys that the whole Stanford thing had to be this kind of choice, that either brother had to feel like if he made one decision, it amounted to choosing against someone he loved.
A hard grin broke over Dean’s face. It was the worst thing Sam had ever seen. “All right, then. I won’t stick around and inconvenience your life any longer. Take care of yourself, kiddo.”
Ow. You just know it’s killing Dean to say this.
It might feel like he was cutting off a piece of himself now but he was sure it would pass. It was all for the best.
Oh, Sam.

It's, just, they're Winchesters, you know? They do things these sorts of angst-ridden things to me and then I just have to share the heartache with all of the other fans I can get my hands on. ;-)
And I'm so glad that both Sam and Dean's pain came across so vividly for you. At the end of the day you really can't have one without the other.
Yes and thank you.

It's a calling, the sharing of the angst. :)
