I totally didn't get any editing done today. But it's not my fault! I had to go over to the parents' for Sunday dinner and the Da was watching the LotR marathon on TNT and I got drawn into the goodness. And then the Da finally found the golf clubs that he said he was going to give me that were hiding in the basement and showed me some beginning technique on how to hold and swing the club.
Hey, if I'm going to be a lawyer who doesn't drink I have to know how to golf, it's kind of a rule. Plus it amuses me on so many levels. And then RotK came on and the Mum started fixating on Pippin, just a little. She's never seen any of the movies all the way through, but every time she'd sit down for a couple minutes she'd have something to say about our dear Pip. It was very adorable. And reminds me that I totally have to scan the picture of her at a con back in the day with Gene Roddenberry, James Doohan and Magel Barrett because fangirling is totally genetic.
Ahem, anyway, where was I? Oh yes, I kept on telling myself that I was going to leave right after the Ride of the Rohirrim. And then I had to wait to see Eowyn off the Witch King. And then I thought I should probably wait until the battle was properly over. I did end up leaving the parents' before the movie was over, I left right after Rose and Sam got married. Oh, hobbits, I'll always love you and love you and love you.
I feel creatively reenergized, but sleepy (those movies take a lot out of you). I think my mental block is finally over, which is excellent news mostly for my state of mind. It's so easy to get lost in doubt and despair, thank goodness for movies that help put things back into perspective.
