First of all, I believe I already flapped about in an undignified manner over the angst involved in this bit, and the fact that Ron doesn't just have a good cry, wake Hermione up for some mourning sex, and get better. So I won't bother with that. I see now that I can't make you from the Path of Pain.
But I somehow completely missed "not even when he’d killed Draco Malfoy" on my first pass, and I feel the need to respond thusly:
OMG OH YEAH, YOU GO RON ZAP THAT SLITHERY BASTARD TO BITS
and then I must express profound disturbance at the violence of his feelings toward Ginny. No wonder he freaked out and ran to Africa!

That's because I added that in after I sent you the draft. The idea hit me when I was re-revising and it seemed too perfect to pass up. If Harry has to die then, gorramit, at least Ron gets to kill his nemesis.
Yeah, and he's going to freak out even more before it's all done. Poor baby, it's such a shame that something so bad has to happen that'll make him think that even his own family doesn't want him anymore.
