(no subject)
Hello everyone. I've been at my new crib long enough to have made two rent payments. After a month of being here, one of my roommates gets engaged! Our lease is for six months anyway but now I know for sure this arrangement will only last the lease time. I may use that time to get a place by myself but who knows. So anyway, I live in a house, and I love our neighborhood. This old lady across the street lives alone from what I can tell, and she wears this floppy hat when working in the yard. Cats are always roaming her porch. Needless to say, she's my hero. I so know that will be me and probably before I'm even elderly.
Santa was good to me. He brought me a bunch of kitchen stuff and a CHECK. I used it to get a tv for my bedroom and most importantly, a CHI HAIRDRYER. I already own the wonderful straightening iron. My roommate has the hairdryer, so I tried it out, and it's amazing. Dries your hair in like half the time and it leaves it feeling soft and a lot less frizzy (for those of us with waves/curls). Hi, eBay!
So I think Saturday night I have a blind not-a-date. My roommate and her fiance talked about introducing his roommate and me... and it might be this weekend. The plan is for Celeste and I to cook here. I saw his pic on MySpace and he's cute and he seems kinda cool from what I can tell. I shouldn't have mentioned it because I don't want to jinx it but it's on my mind big time. I hope I don't screw up dinner. I'm making my dad's shrimp creole recipe. Oh, let me tell you how my roommate met her fiance. She ran into the grocery store to get dog food and asked this guy in the aisle if he could reach it for her. It was him one month ago. That's how long they've known each other! She knew after a few dates he was "the one." So sweet.
Okay, the skinny-leg jeans... not happening. I knew ankle tight jeans would NOT look good on a girl with hips like mine. Since flare jeans are kind of being phased out, I wanted to try some on for shits and giggles. I think I literally laughed out loud in the dressing room. No no no. I got boot cut and we're just fine together. I was looking for new jeans because 1) mine ended up too loose and 2) I wanted a darker wash. And, pointy-toe flats are so mysteriously slenderizing to the body! I'll put on round-toe flats and I feel stumpy. My red pointy-toe flats are currently the shoes I wear the most. Oh and I got this dress and it's so freakin cute and flattering.
Okay, it's cold and rainy out and I want to get ready for bed now at 7pm :oX. I have a cold that keeps coming and going which makes me have either a lot of energy or none at all.
