In which my weekend blows through the stratosphere of awesome

Mar 21, 2011 15:12

For the past two weeks at work, I have been a busy, little beaver. Renewal Season is upon the Symphony, and it is hunting season.
I made it out alive, though, so stop your worrying.
No. Stop it.

The past week has been filled with work and tennis (where Nadal got to the final but did not win - *weeps openly*), and planning for the weekend, which by the way was awesome!

My friend Sarah and I went out to brunch and did some wardrobe shopping on Saturday. She called it D-Day (Dallas Day). If you are in a city where there is a J. Christopher's restaurant open, go to tomorrow. To.Mor.Row. Delicious brunch menu. It is so good, you will want to kiss the cook. Several times. With tongue.

Afterward, we headed to Simply Fashions, which is the only place I shop when I am getting down to business. I needed a completely new closet, and not in some girly way. Like a serious I-have-not-shopped-for-any-new-clothes-in-three-and-a-half-years-and-my-closet-is-weeping way.

I had no jeans, no dress pants, no jackets, and not many cute things. How did I survive in this adult world for so long?!

Thank goodness Sarah was with me. She loves to dress people (she does costume jobs every now and again) and she is a hunter. She was able to find things that I probably would not have even looked at twice. And the two ladies that were working there were great. We then headed to Payless for shoes and Walmart for random wares. It was just a great and satisfying experience.

On Sunday, my ex-boss/friend Heidi and I went to see The Adjustment Bureau at Atlantic Station. THE BEST MOVIE EVER, you guys. And not in the "It changed my life" way, or the "Oscar nom, yeah!" way, but in the way that I was so fucking happy with everything in that movie. The credits started to roll, and I turned to Heidi and said, "I am going to buy this movie." When I say that, I don't mean eventually; I mean the day it comes out, I will be at the store, in line, and jumping up and down like the adorable dork that I am.

I love five types of movies the best. Love stories (duh), thriller movies, conspiracy theory plots, witty, one-liner dialogue movies, and fighting-to-keep-love movies. This movie had all five wrapped in a sexy Matt Damon bow!
*lewd thoughts*

I have a lot to say about how The Adjustment Bureau played with my emotions. It was so good that I was in mental turmoil for most of the night. And today. Not in a "I can't get out of bed, and water will not stop falling from eyes" kind of way, but as always, with movies that hit something in me, I become very introspective.

You'll get a Part II, don't worry.
No, I said stop it!

Remember to love.
