I could never be your woman

I've been running lately and I really really like it. Carolyn asked me to do a 5K with her in September and it used to be the sort of thing that I'd never consider but this time, I don't know, I just wanted to do it. So a week and a half ago, I said that I wouldn't sign up yet but that we could at least try running together. It's been so fun! Here's what I've done so far. I got the distance off of www.runthere.com. It's my new favorite website. It lets you label your runs like "don't do this, you might collapse" or "easy, do this when you need to half ass your workout". I love it.

8/13: 1.6 miles
8/14: 2.1 miles
8/17: 1.9 miles
8/19: 2.3 miles
8/20: 1.1 miles to gym, 40 mins cardio
8/21: 2.6 miles
8/22: 3.0 miles

Carolyn's just a really good running friend. She helps out with the whole endurance thing. Because I don't have much. I'd rather run really fast and get to where I want to go rather than pace myself and run farther than where I thought I could get to. If that makes sense. I'm just having so much fun with it.

My dad is training for a marathon. But since he's my dad, he's not REALLY going to do the marathon, he's just training with them to see how many miles he can actually run in a row. He's up to 13.3 miles right now. Puts my little 3'er to shame, doesn't it? But not for long.

I'm seriously addicted and I'm hoping that it lasts. Tonight, we ran around the reservoir twice. I used to walk around it with Kris10 and think that I could never run it. It's my favorite run too. Very picturesque and calm at night and in the morning. And flat, very very flat. Which is why I imagine I could do the 3 miles tonight and really enjoy it. I want to be able to run down comm around the reservoir to beacon and back or do at least 3 laps around the reservoir before the race. It's 9/14. Exciting!
