either way, it was a horrible combination to have Metrocon and Flugtag at the same place. Most of the Flugtag crowd from what i saw and some of the stuff i heard were pretty drunk and obnoxious. Probably why Flugtag isn't in the same place every year since no one could deal with them more than once.
I went to Metro for a couple reasons. I hadn't been there in about two years and wanted to see how much its changed since i was a dealer when it was still in the hotel. Also, to see Jenn and her friends in the Avatar show(s). The 1st one was a fight show (because of the lovely people of Redbull/Flugtag) the time of the show got pushed then they got kicked out last minute of the area they were given so Redbull had a place to store their crap. The show itself was still good, but unfortunately because of having to perform it in a hallway the sound was completely drowned out.
The Fire show kicked lots of butt ^^;.It was pretty impressive, they did a lot more than i thought there would be. I'll put some pics up later.
as for the con itself, good crowd, I don't know if Amy and her husband are still the couple in charge of Metro or if they sold it to another company... but it definitely does not have the same feel like it used to. the dealer room was lame. I have better stuff still sitting in my room that i never sold than what was in most of that room. I noticed a few dealers were not there from previous years... Animenation and Waldenbooks from citrus park mall wasn't there. Animenation was the 1st big sponsor of Metrocon... now I saw fricken Best Buy!? Are you serious? Best Buy had a booth... man, next year if i'm here i'm getting a booth.
See-ya!
