I do furry digital art. That is, I do a furry drawing then scan it into the computer where I finish it off.
One thing (among lots of others) has always bothered me about my fellow artists. I understand that the sketch/drawing pads that we use are vertically rectangular which results in a lot of vertical artwork. Go to an art museum and the majority of artwork hanging on the walls is vertically rectangular.
But here we are now in the Age of the Internet where those who are looking at our artworks are doing so through a horizontally rectangular computer monitor screen. So why isn't there a whole lot of horizontally oriented digital artwork out there taking advantage of that extra space? Is it perhaps that Internet artists can not break away from that old-fashion vertical format of the sketch pad?
