See, what I remembered about the series is that Alice is a Sue, she wins a lot and she's kind of annoying with her powers and stuff.
To see this, with its narrative of female victimization and male... potency? I'm not sure what the word I want is, but the watching of the monitors while she's fighting (or dying, sometimes) is kind of startling. Alice is murdering highly active zombies right and left and is brewing a firestorm over her head at one point. Eh. She can't win.
It was there. It's kind of unnerving what I missed.
