The price of gas.

Did I ever mention how much I hate the high price of gasoline? Grr.

$23 to put 3/4ths of a tank of gas in my Jeep Cherokee.

I'm not sure all the external costs they mention should be imposed exclusively on gasoline for motor vehicles, but still it's something to think about.

Oh please, tax dollars subsidize gas production? These guys are making this stuff up.
I like how they call themselves Bi-partisan when their roots are anything but.

These people are anti-technology luddites thru and thru.

I suppose the US General Accounting Office is making stuff up as well?

Those are losses based on tax cuts. Those are not monies paid by the government to the petrolium industry.

I keep telling myself that, but somehow it's less effective since I've never had to buy gas there. :-/ But, if I did, I'd be driving something HIGHLY fuel efficient, or something with just two wheels.

I think you'd look awfully cute on a razor scooter.

Makes you wonder what ever happened to that 'War for Oil' we were supposed to be fighting.

Well, I have commented before that when we marched into Bagdad, that we needed to then make them a commonwealth, turn right and look for the next oil country and annex them, then belly up to the table with the rest of OPEC and say, "Howdy, boys..."

Considering that we have more oil resources in this country than I think any middle eastern country, what good would that do? Congress would immediatly ban drilling for any of it, cause the enviromental groups would go on and on about the 'damage to the endangered desert shrew' blah blah blah.

Personally I want to see about a hundred wells sunk on either coast. With high fines for spills to keep them from spilling any. Build a bunch more refineries too, then we'd get gas back under a buck.

Commonwealths. lionman May 13 2004, 14:46:13 UTC
Perhaps they would cry about it. But, in this case we'll have to setup as a military shop, initially, and the laws are just a bit different that way. And because it'd be a commonwealth, the laws of the US would apply differently, as if at all.

Enviromental protection laws don't function the same in commonwealths. That's why alot of US Military live-fire is done on islands that belong to US commonwealths.

It's 45 bucks to fill my truck. And hell it's over 10 to fill the bike.

Hey, at least you don't have a 500 mile commute (each way) like I do! :-) At least I (usually) only drive it every other week, and the car does get 27mpg.
But flying it is starting to look cheaper.

I don't even want to think about putting premium in my DMC. Ugh.
