Hermione’s holding onto him as if her life depended on it, and it does, really, but he wishes she’d lighten up a little and enjoy the ride. It wasn’t every day ... or night, rather ... that a person got to ride a Hippogriff.
Buckbeak drops towards the castle, and Harry feels the way he does when he plunges after the Snitch.
Hermione’s screaming in his ear and he’s yelling with exhilaration.
When Buckbeak levels out, Hermione’s breath is ragged.
He’s going to have to do something about her fear of flying. An acrophobic witch is just ... well... sad.
