Verilinda proceeded carefully to the water’s edge. She kept a keen eye out for danger, as usual, but the coast was clear, so she slipped into the cool stream and went for a leisurely swim. She’d have to be getting home soon, however. The boy was an anxious sort, and Verilinda couldn’t leave him alone for long without him going into a complete panic. He was a sweet boy, though, he meant well even if he was confused about a few details. Indeed, she could hear him lumbering through the cattails now, calling for her.
“Trevor? Trevor? Where are youuuuuuuu?”
