“Hermione, if you needed help, why didn’t you just ask?” Harry sounded a little hurt.
“I didn’t want to bother you,” she murmured. “I know everybody must hound you for money.”
“You’re not ‘everybody’,” he pointed out, taking a book from his desk drawer and reaching for a quill. “How much do you need?”
“Well… Timothy’s textbook list was a mile long, and Molly’s just starting this year, she needs a cauldron and a wand and Cara doesn’t have any dress robes….”
“How much?”
“45 Galleons.” Hermione closed her eyes. “Please don’t tell Ron.”
Harry made it out for 50.

“He’s a cat, Hermione! Cats can take care of themselves! That’s what they’re known for. Well, that and scratching up the furniture….”
“Are you going to help me look for him or not?” Hermione demanded, pulling up the hood of her raincoat. She looked like a shiny yellow banana standing there in the foyer, but she had the grim look of determination in her eyes.
Ron glanced out the window, opaque with rain. “Yeah, sure,” he sighed.
He reached to the floor to snatch up his own coat, and out tumbled a very surprised and sleepy kitten.
“Dewey!” Hermione cried.
