It’s a bit more important for Tonks than most to keep track of the passage of time. The first gift Remus gives her is a lavaliere, a silver disk that changes with the moon’s phase. As the month wears on, the pendant grows heavier around her neck, as the burden weighs on Remus.
But Tonks has another necklace she likes to wear, a smiling sun with tentacles of gold, bright and burnished.
Sometimes she wears them both at the same time, just to remind her weary lover that the two heavenly bodies share the sky together on many a morning.
