I like early mornings. Not so much watching the sun rise, but that fifteen minutes or so of dark before the sun starts to peek through. Pure solitude. It's calming, in some way.

Right now. Everyone else will be awake soon, groggy as always. But right now, I'm alone in the Common Room, alternating between writing here and staring out the window.

I've been spending a lot of time alone lately, which is why I haven't written, I suppose. Nothing exciting happens when you spend all your time in either the dorm or the greenhouses, which is exactly what I've been up to. Except that day I fell down the stairs over near the Slytherin Dungeons. Luckily no one was around, but I managed to sprain my wrist and had to go see Madam Pompfrey. She was nice about it, as always.

Harry and Ron beat up Draco Malfoy not too long ago. I wish that I could do that. Not Malfoy, exactly, as Crabbe and Goyle could squash me like a bug. Well, I heard that they were standing up for Ginny, and I don't think I could ever do that for her, or anyone. Something I'm sure Gran is grateful for.

Speaking of Gran... no. Let's not. It's much too confusing. I still don't know what that owl was about.

I should head to breakfast. Perhaps even talk to somebody, and say something other than "pass the bacon" and "thank you".
