Lionel might blame his newly aquired tentative spot on the Times for the trip he's taking out to dinosaur area, but that would be lying. (Well, to a point.) After the initial shock and disbelief, he's mostly just curious about the chance of actually seeing dinosaurs. Getting to take pictures of them as proof is just a plus.
It had been easy enough to get a map, even if it did come with the standard warnings that almost made Lionel start regretting his decision. Any doubts Lionel may have had about the whole thing mostly revolved around needing to walk through the jungle, but when he realized they could really just walk up the beach instead, he took to it enthusiastically.
Jack hadn't protested much when Lionel decided to drag him along, and he was even wearing the wookie shirt that was still hilarious, even if Lionel wasn't drunk on horrible moonshine anymore (which, never again. The hangover nearly killed him.) The walk itself was mostly the same as the rest of the island -- beach, sand, treeline to their right -- but as they got closer, it got harder not to get excited.
