The series begins with what could be considered the ideal state of the world for Leo and his friends. They race, do drugs, fight, go to school (sometimes) and face other daily trials like falling in love, facing ostracism and the like. The worst that happens is the occasional death of somebody thanks to the effects of the Fire Candy they take, but that too stays limited to the times when they race - they might be the damned, racing on the fastest shortcut on the highway to hell, but at least nobody ever dies alone. This last solace gets shattered when Akito, Ryoki’s girlfriend and Leo’s secret flame, dies from the Candy - right after she and Ryoki lost their innocence with each other. Yeah. Ouch. After this, Ryoki loses it for good for a while, giving himself up to drugs and slowly increasing madness.

Things only slowly get better again after Leo smacks some sense into him and introduces a new member to the gang: Haru(ki). Haru isn’t only a male prostitute who’s a good ten years older than everybody else, but also an ex-member of the legendary gang PLATINUM and was once known as the infamous ‘platinum lynx’. Much to Ryoki’s and Leo’s dismay, he also turns out being Ryoki’s BIGGEST FANBOY (and he has no qualms showing it <3!!). To spice things up, Yukito, Akito’s twin sister who shares her late sister’s crush on Ryoki, decides to join at the same time and the (literal) cat fight for the half-cow boy’s attention begins - with poor Leo in the crossfire because Haru decided it’d be a good idea to introduce himself as Leo’s lover (and thus his responsibility) and just guess who’s the lucky BFF Ryoki takes shelter behind when things become too much. (That’s about the point Leo realizes just how much life really sucks, but I’m digressing.) Anyway, things turn chaotic much but once the dust finally settles everything seems to be getting better. There’s a silver lining on every cloud-

-but this one turns out to be the flash of the detonation of an atomic bomb. When the prize for Fire Candy suddenly dramatically rises Leo half-jokes half-suggests that if they can’t afford to buy the Candy the normal way anymore, then they should just go and take it from those who can. And that’s what they do. Ryoki names the gang ‘Jammy Angels’ and leads them in their increasingly brutal attacks: first against unlucky junkies, later against the drug traffickers under MUTE themselves in the megalomaniac hope that they could usurp their place.

Of course stuff like that can only go well for so long and once the adult gangsters decide to strike back they do it fast and brutal. Leo is the first who gets to experience this as he gets kidnapped by them and ….let’s just say that spending several hours ´getting thought lessons´ and ´it’s no fun if they’re not awake´ with guys who consider your species below shit isn’t funny. Thank god Ryoki and the gang save Leo - and let him have a go at the guy who had so much fun torturing him, which results in Leo beating the guy to death in a berserk frenzy. But unlike Leo, who kept doing his best in order to prevent Ryoki from giving into his violent urges and actually kill somebody time and time again, said BFF and Haru stand by and laugh while he himself becomes a murderer, happily talking about how all the bloodshed and violence makes them want to wank off to it. Yep, ouch again. Especially when Leo regains his senses in time to realize what he’s doing and more importantly, what they’re doing, but moments too late to stop the murder.

Leo is beyond crushed over his deed - an intricate detail that Ryoki keeps blandly missing until a member of his gang points Leo’s continued absence out to him and pretty much kicks him to confront his BFF who’s holed himself up in his room. Their reunion doesn’t end well. Ryoki keeps missing Leo’s point up until the moment the half-lion tells him into his face that a) he wants to leave the gang and b) Ryoki scares him enough that he never wants to see his face again. Just dandy. ..For the first time Ryoki seems to realize just how much he’s about to ruin not only his own life.

The drama gets cut short when they are reached by the message that Yukito got taken by Mute (why abandon a good plan when it works?) and that they plan to rape and kill her while filming the whole act. Leo and Ryoki settle their differences for the moment and together with the rest of the Jammy Angels they rush for yet another rescue mission. What follows is Leo’s nightmare come true: the showdown between Ryoki and Tetsu, Mute’s man for the rough (who just so happens to be another ex-member of PLATINUM), ends with Ryoki finally and completely snapping. Leo can only stare on in shock as Ryoki happily tears off Tetsu’s head, whispers a last goodbye to him and leaves to the sound of approaching sirens. THE END. YUP, IT'S REALLY FUCKED UP.
