A girl who achieved higher on standardized exams and merit scholar status. A girl, that was offered multiple scholarships with early admission to some of the top Universities in the country. Who went on to become a successful architect with a specialty designing buildings with historical aesthetic influence, who obtained the BA/M.Arch. degrees in five years. She lives in a hip one-bedroom apartment uniquely decorated in an urban city center, going to wine bars with girlfriends and business dinners. She's moving up in the corporate ladder and earning a wage beyond imagined.
…It's called a castle because that's what was supposed to be the socially acceptable, the planned vision, the dream. But it's exactly that… nothing but a dream, a planned vision, the socially acceptable path in our society. What happens instead is a series of choices made influenced by the most obscure aspects of your life that end up shaping who you become, adapting your dream, forming an identity. And when you think back to a moment as simple as that of choosing to take a high school placement test, oh how different every fork in the road would have been, the journey taken would have differed, and the life you love would not exist.
