the setting: around 3:30 AM after a night out, hubby and I are lying in bed and for some reason he decides to tell me a joke
hubby: why does a snail drive a cadillac?
me almost asleep: what the hell? why are you asking me this?
hubby: it's a joke. why---- why does a snail drive a cadillac?
me irritated: fuck if i know… just tell me so i can go to sleep.
hubby now sounding sad: never mind… go to sleep
me: … *sigh* tell me please or i'll never get to sleep
hubby: so when people see him driving they say "look at that S car go"
me: *silence* wait… i don't get it… oh wait… i got it… *snort laugh*
hubby: *silence*
hubby and me almost at the same time: *bursts out laughing*
so needless to say, it wasn't the best delivery time and he totally didn't say the joke correctly, but we laughed for the next twenty minutes and kept repeating "look at that S car go"
