My weekend and the week before that was a blast... by far, too the max!
A while back Eric's parents came up to visit and they got to see my cat. It was really nice to see all of them. Then Eric and I had a Loa show at Highland hall, the show was a succus besides minor tech. difficulties. The day after I got up early to meet up with two other girls that I'm running a garden with in a plot we share in the outback. I'm really pumped to start growing things but right now we are just working the land.
Last Tuesday my parents came up to help me find a car and finish my fin-aid. We didn't find one that we thought would be stable and in our price range but my mom said they would keep looking back home... at least they are making an effort. I'm super excited but don't want to get my hopes up. They came up to visit the UW's campus and visit my older sis in Seattle but decided to stop by B'ham too b/c it was there spring break. It was so much fun seeing them. Eric and I went with my family out to eat at La Fiamma's and it was the happiest I've been in a long time. I realize how much I love them and how my 'lil bro has matured so much but still has a great sense of humor. I feel at ease around them.
Thursday I got new bass strings to replace the one I broke on the first note at our show Saturday.
Friday MY SISTER CAME UP TO BELLINGHAM to see my band play! It was fantastic! I love having her up here and being able to show her around town, hang'n out and just gossiping. I love her soo much and I wish she could come up here more often, but I know I will see her soon in Seattle.
Saturday Eric and I went to the Farmer's market because we haven't been since it opened. They really didn't have much produce yet, but starters for gardening and lots of delicious food. When it got too cold we went inside and got ready for the Internal Affairs show in Canada. I dont' care what people say, I love the vibe of Candaian hardcore shows... they are waay better than Seattle hardcore shows. Plus I have a mini-crush on a bass player in one of the bands that played, so thats always fun. (not just cause he's cute but he' actually a talented musician).
Anyways we got back super late and were supposed to go to my friend Shawn's party but we didnt' know if it was still going on and we had to get up super early to meet my family in Seattle so we could follow them out to my Aunt's house who lives out in no-where land. Our family doesn't really celebrate Easter but we always have a little get-together. It was so nice that Eric was invited and he actually went! Talk about pressure, but everybody loved him! My siblings, Eric and I got to hang out and play pool and shoot some hoops with my cousins and talk with older relatives that I haven't seen in ages. My Grandpa was in the hospital though so it was a little weird that he wasn't there and everyone was thinking about him. I've heard that he's doing tons better though, and I think he's home now. (yeah!)
My aunt had a cute dog named Clancy and an adorable cat named BoBo. Eric was too precious playing with the cat. It was amusing us because it would attack a stuffed bear that was bigger in size but the cat wasn't scared at all! Awww, anyway. I love my cat Bengal, I'm so glad we got her because she's so enjoyable.
NOw schoolwork is starting to build up so I should probably start focusing before I get too behind. But I just got done hanging out with Eve, Eric (who chopped of his dreads!), Collete and Zach. It was pretty fun because I haven't spent time with them in a while but they kind of intruded on me and I didn't really have a choice. Zach was a little tipsy and talked to me for about and hour and 40 mins while I was trying to do reading. It was funnier than it sounds because we were debating over nurturing/spaying pets or not while Eve and Collette were taking pictures of all of us for "ourspace".
The other day I finally watched one of the first zombie movies "Night of the Living Dead". So good. Even for being made back in 1968 I can see why it's such a classic and groundbreaking for its time. I really like the way it was filmed even though it didn't have all the new special effects and stuff, it was more intimate. Yesterday I played some frisbee and saw "Inside Man" by Spike Lee with Keith and Eric. Way better than I thought it was going to be and Clive Owen..mmmm.
There have been so many shows as of late and I've been working like mad-women to promote them.
Hopefully people can make it out to the U.S.E. show on Friday and Mates of State are on Saturday. Do it up people! Party people!
Peace~
