My Uncle who was a great person, died last week from cancer. It's hard to deal with but I know deep down that he isn't suffering anymore and I will always have those memories on Lummie Island, camping and the Kazuu bands. I just remember him always loving to entertain people and make them happy with jokes and singing. Thats the way I want to remember him, but it still hurts.
It's been crazy since schools been out. I've been going back and fourth between Bellingham, Tacoma and home. Despite the crazy schedule I've had so much fun doing everything that I've wanted to do but haven't been able to because of school. Collette, Eve and I, along with a few others, went to see the latest Harry Potter movie. Absolutely awesome! So much darker and scarier than the others... plus the characters are growing up, fast! I wonder if they will be able to make another one?
Anyway, I was really lucky to be able to see Lewis Black on Friday! The tickets were kinda pricey but they were also a benefit for Planned Parenthood, which I support greatly. Plus it was worth is because it was fuck'n Lewis Black. He gets so crazy and funny onstage that sometimes I thought he was going to have a heart attack or I was from laughter. Ahhh man I love that guy.
I know this was ages ago but I went to Melissa’s White Elephant gift exchange party with Aaron and Nora when Eric went down to Seattle and I had a crazy time! Nora and Aaron added me to their band "the caulk" which could be very fun.
So usually at these get-togethers that Melssa puts on there is only like 10 or 15 but the word got out (that she throws awesome parties!) and I think there was about 30 people for the gift thing and it definitely made it merrier! People kept saying they like me when I’m drunk? Like they don’t like me when I’m normal… I’m just as cool
Last weekend our band Dragline, recorded a new demo in Tacoma. It already sounds better than our old demo that we recorded in Fairhaven and it hasn't even been mixed yet! The guy we worked with was really professional but easy to get along with and take directions from. I felt like he taught our band so much. The recording session lasted all weekend and I really had a good time bonding with my band-mates. We went to dive-bars for paper thin pizza, went around and looked at record stores, walk to mini-marts for organic juice?
It was really neat that Ben from Barricade (which is my new favorite band right now!) came by to do shout outs and stuff.
Monday I went with some lovely ladies and fellows to Richmond Sushi!!! Wonderful as always. I wish I could have talked to people more if I wasn’t stuffy my face full of sushi.
Tuesday I met up with some buds at Nate’s and play the Apple’s to Apple’s game. It made me want to play more board and card games. Wednesday was filled with King Kong madness that gave me joy for the sake of entertainment.
(saw Minus the Bear with Aaron and Chad who are two awesome guys that I wish I could hang out with more… went to I love sushi beforehand, and all these other crazy places around Tacoma and saw the campus at Universtiy of Puget Sound, where Chad goes to).
Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of music live. I think the most fun and festive one was the one at the Ground Zero place in Bellevue where P.S.A., and Shookones played. We still had time to even make it to the WAXWING show that Eric bought tickets for at the Vera. I’m so bummed that they are breaking up for good but like Eric said they never played shows anyway. I just feel lucky that I was able to see them live. It was a nice but busy weekend staying in Tacoma with Eric and his family but it felt good to have him over for a family dinner the other night. He’s a special guy.
I’ve been kind of down and out lately but reflecting on things I realize just how lucky I am.
Like in other good news, I passed all my classes with higher grades then I expected but still didn't help out my GPA at all. Goal, A's from here on out!
Being home is nice but weird because I miss my older sister and being able to hang out with her after work. (When are you coming home Seattleite?).
I hope everyone’s holiday chaos is going well so far.
Peace~
