I fought off my cold (cross's fingers). Usually I get the snuffly's when it changes weather outside but it takes me a long time to fight it off. I have just beeen really organized which has helped my stress and mood levels stay balanced. Anywho, on Tuesday (Monday?) had a supercool mondo friendship bond dinner with all the hardcore kids in B'ham and Jackson, Bo and Derek. I sat by JoeXpunch and realize the more I talk to him, what a cool kid he really is. Eric and I left early to go see Broken Flowers at the Pickford. The previews didn't give this movie any justice and I was quite surprised how good it was. Bill Muray plays the quirky, funny, depressed middle-aged, mid-life crisis man really well! He's really found his niche in the sorta-indie field of movies and he's brilliant... but I wonder if he will ever win anything.
Eve and I got a sweet deal for internet with Qwest and I'm super excited to have interenet (that works!) at home. Because of this, I'm thinking about investing in a new computer or labtop. Apple has a sweet thing where you can make really low payments every month to pay it off, which would work out best for me. Eve convinced me to get cable... but I'm not so sure about it, I don't really watch T.V. and if I do its only for certain channels or the news. We'll see how it works out but if the bills get to be too much I might have to convince her to just get a DVD player and netflix.
I think I already mentioned this, but its so weird being on campus now. I mean, I know a lot of people but they have already graduated or they are going to be this coming school year. Its so weird when I go to lunch and the VU is of course PACKED and I don't know anyone. To avoid awkwardness I usually wait until I get home to eat, or sometimes I'm lucky and can meet up with Eric.
This weekend was so fun but exhausting, I don't know how I got through it. Friday was the worst. I had class from 8AM until noon, then I had a three hour lab, then I had to stay on campus until 4PM for a meeting about my work and what I'll be doing, then I went straight to band practice (luckily people brought food or I think I would have passed out) and hung out with Chris, Aaron, Jeff and Eric and played pool for a bit while we ordered pizza. After I went home and took a shower and went out with Andrea, Jim, Matt, Joe, Greg, Amanda and my sweetie pie to a really cool Ale house in downtown fairhaven. It was totally an Irish pub, and was sweet because it was away from all the jackass's on state street. For some reason I drank more than I usually do EVER, but had so much fun! I think because the places we went to were low-key and the I was really comfortable around the people I was with, I just loosened up. Of course you can guess I slept like a rock that night because sleep never felt sooo good!!!
Saturday was sweet also because Eric and I went to a Western's first hockey game of the year, against W.S.U. We went to there very last game, last year and they lost, but this year they look like a lot stronger team... or at least a lot scrappier because W.S.U.'s hockey players were ginormous but Western still won, or should I say, kicked there ass! I'm so glad hockey is back this year, its makes me really excited for whats to come.
Oh, before the game I had my first BCR (beans, cheese and rice burrito) and Diego's and it was SUPERB. Something about there salsa... mmmm.
Sunday was also full of sports in the morning, watching the Redskins barely beat the Seakhawks and watching Eric flip out (hes a fan) that they are 3-0. I guess things are starting to go there way for ONCE.
Later we had our first Loa Meeting of the year and it was really successful and fun! We have it in the Fairhaven lounge now because we are trying to bring in new blood and there was a shit ton of new, ethusiastic people that showed up... sweet. I'm really excited about this year too, it seems like we have some pretty cool idea for shows already. Family guy was a re-run last night but tonight... A.D.!
Peace-
