so, funny story...

how it feels like 7 1/2 years since i've updated this thing--hell, i don't know who still reads this...but i'm still going to ramble on for a while.

--my job as a conference assistant has been going for nearly a month.  thus far--it's been quite the trip...i don't know what i would have done if maddie hadn't gotten the job as well.  i feel so blessed that we have grown so close this past year.  she truly is one of my best friends.

--but yeah, CA-ing is the easiest job there is over the summer--in my opinion.  I get to sit at desks, help the few and far between customer with directions to the union or love library or the nearest gas station.  i have thus far read four books and two plays at the desk, as movie watching is only allowed from midnight-6am.  those books are:  Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow, The Color Purple by Alice Walker, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, Naked Pictures of Famous People by Jon Stewart, Six Degrees of Separation by John Guare, and An American Daughter by Wendy Wassterstein.  I have loved all of them, thus far--and i'm currently indulging myself in The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

--Maddie and I are heading on Tuesday to World's of Fun.  I'm trying to convince her to go on the Rip Cord with me to no avail.  But I haven't been there in around three years, so I can't wait to have some fun this summer--saying I had very little of it last summer.

--Seen a couple good movies:  Knocked Up and Shrek 3.  Both were extremely hysterical--my preference was Knocked Up, but both exceeded my expectations, so that was nice.  I'm not sure if I'm going to Pirates 3--I have heard mixed reviews both ways.  I don't know.

--My sister graduated yesterday--which was great.  she'll be attending UNL in the fall as a pre-nursing major.  Even though I don't always agree with what happens in her life--aka the boyfriend--i am completely excited to see what she can do.  we hated each other so much throughout our elementary and middle school days--i love the fact that we have grown so close over the past few years.

--allergies suck.

--lack of significant others suck--but i've grown to accept this.  the one potential in my life right now is leaving at the end of this week for the rest of the summer--to spend it in texas, which is extremely saddening, but c'est la vie.

--having emily evnen back in town is amazing.

ok.  i think i've rambled enough.  maybe i'll add more soon--i'm at the smith front desk until 6pm, and i'm completely bored.  :)
