Today was the greatest day I've had in a while, and it wasn't even that great. But I still appreciate it. After the social ("social") part that ended with lunch at Follow Your Heart I walked to the Goodwill on Owensmouth to look for a telephone. They only had a very dumpy model that was clunky and no me gustó, and so I decided to mosey on out of there but not before looking at a few pairs of jeans that I didn't try on. Didn't buy them either, wasn't planning on it, and so I made my way for the bus station. It was just like last summer, when I walked everywhere in the heat by myself just to get out of the house, and it was damn fun. I retraced the same exact steps from an entire year ago, before the prospect of ever walking the same path ever sprang to my mind. It wasn't romantic at all but I remembered. I'd had to fucking pee for a long time and when I got to the mall I dashed inside and instantly found the directory and, right around the corner, the restrooms. There was a long line ahead, and the last three of them were probably from the UK. They talked like the GEICO gecko and it was entertaining to overhear their conversation. I'm a Yankee ditz, jeeez. I just liked their accents. The boy was ridiculously sunburnt, briiight pinkish red, and only now did it occur to me that sunburns hurt like hell. Poor kid. He went to put on his glasses and he dropped them, and the girl said, "Nicely done." Not even with a hint of sarcasm, not even with a giggle. She sounded like Lara Croft. blsh blah blah blah blah. i flopped over onto the couch like a ragdoll and slept for two hours. dad was critical in that boring ol' mean voice. 'up too late' blah blah.
