John vanSickle's Grand List of Overused Science Fiction Cliches is brilliant (and can be found here: http://enphilistor.50megs.com/cliche.htm), although if you read Georges Polti, there are only thirty-six dramatic solutions in any event. Some will inevitably be a cliche.
