What would you say in a paper on fanfiction?

Whyever are you people writing an essay on that?!

Well, I'd say it has good aspects and bad.

For one, it's good to develop your writing skills when you already have a world prepared to be manipulated, especially if oyu're new to writing.
Fanfiction will normally get you more feedback than original story (as you can see in HP fandom). Also, this applies more to beginners who need more output (input?) than more experienced authors.

Bad points is that your imagination becomes restricted to that one fandom if you read and write nothing but that. You start imagining situations for a specific scene in that particular fic you're writing in a way that will fit into the story by canon, and never try to expand your imagination as your limited to certain facts.

Also, I believe you could get lost in a state of constant "daydreaming" if you're always reading fics.

*grins* credit me! :D

Lol, just handed it in today. For some unknown reason it's a huge file, so where do I send it to you?

Ahm. Well, you can send it to hotmail, if it isn't too huge, or yahoo.com, or maybe just copy/paste onto your LJ. I'll copy it, and you can take it down. :) *grins*
