Christmas was a lot of fun!
My parents came into my bedroom at 7:30 in the morning and started jumping on my bed saying, "Let's open presents!" It seemed kinda backwards...aren't the kids supposed to wake up the parents that way? I got a lot of cool stuff, including the flat panel monitor that I wanted! And my dad really liked the antique text books that I got him!
Christmas afternoon, all my family came over. Christmas is the only day that my parents will let me drink, and I took full advantage with the margarita's! But I discovered a secret...I can actually enjoy spending time with my relatives after I've had some alcohol!! Good to know! Jacob came over in the afternoon too, and opened presents/ate dinner with me and my family. After dinner, we went to his grandma's house and had christmas with his family. We played Scrabble with his cousins...it was a lot of fun!
Then, Jake and I went back to my house and exchanged the gifts we had gotten each other.
For New Years Eve, Jake and I went to Davids. There were several people there, and it was pretty fun. I felt kinda pathetic, though, when I got tired at one o'clock and went home to go to bed.
Besides the holidays, my break has been a lot of fun. I've spent pretty much every day with Jacob. He got his housing assignment for next semester...He's living on the floor above mine!! I'm very excited!
Part of me hasn't totally realized that Jake is really going to be here next semester. I keep catching myself getting sad when I think about leaving at the end of break, and I have to remind myself that there's no reason to be sad because Jacob will be leaving with me.
I guess it's just one of those things where you've looked forward to something so much and for so long that when it finally does happen, you can't hardly believe that it's true.
Living so far away from each other was really hard. And I kept telling myself that if we could just get through the time apart, then everything would be all right. And now that we actually are at this point, I can hardly believe it.
I'm so happy that we finally get to have a normal relationship where we can actually see each other and be together whenever we want....what I've been jealous of Ashley and Erin for all last semester.
I guess the short way of saying all that, is that I'm incredibly happy and excited that Jacob will be at SMS next semester. I just hope that he likes living and going to school here as much as I do.
Anyway...my break has been pretty typical, my mom took me shopping for a 'mother-daughter day' and I got a bunch of new clothes.
I'm still waiting on Becky to call me. (What else is new) I know that it's kinda vintage Becky to make plans with me and then not come through, but I'll be really disappointed if I don't get to see her at least once over break. I have a bunch of Christmas money to go shopping with, and no one can replace Becky as a shopping partner.
I think thats all for now...
Happy Christmas Break!
