I hate it when people belittle the fact that I'm going to be a teacher. They act like I'm taking the easy way out and not taking challenging "real" classes. One person actually told me that they were surprised when they found out I was majoring in education because they thought I was capable of more.
More what!!!????
Being an education major is just as difficult as any other major.
Not only am I expected to be well educated in EVERY core subject area, but I also have to understand the psychology of children, their learning and developmental stages, and the proper methods to effectively teach....and just because I'm going to teach elementary school doesn't mean that my classes are at an elementary level! They're definitely NOT! If that was the case, I wouldn't be taking Physics, Trig. and Economics!
I'm just tired of people acting like their classes are so much more advanced and superior than mine because I'm "just an education major."
