DE Fan Fiction Recommendations
Hello F-List,
Are any of you looking for some good DE stories to read? I thought I'd share some of the ones that I've really enjoyed with you all.
The first one is a multi-chapter story that I started reading over on FF.net but the author has since come over here. I like that as I find it easier to comment here. In it, Damon and Elena are journalists and the reason I've enjoyed it so much is that she captures pretty much all of the characteristics in each of them that make me love them. The setting and framework for the story add to it's appeal. It is titled Bet Me and is written by loveepiclove

This next one is a one-shot by _newworld. I just love how poetic it is and the theme that runs through it. It doesn't hurt that I adore the song that the title comes from, which is:
letting go (and holding on)
Even though my dear friend, abvj, insists that The Vampire Diaries is no longer her sandbox, she still writes beautiful fanfic for us. This one is a lovely coda to 3.10 The New Deal and never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Next is my current read (over and over and over and over) because it is how the whole apres-torture should have gone in my mind. For anyone out there who hasn't read badboy_fangirl's work, I strongly suggest you drop everything and go read every single one of her TVD stories!! But I digress, her latest offering is wonderful and believable and has become my happy place.
i don't have a choice (but i still choose you)
Next, a little escapism in the form of a light-hearted and fun DE fan fiction by the talented lit_chick08. I love the way it flows together and offers a glimpse of what Damon & Elena's dating life could be like.

Next is one that will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was the result of my bidding on my talented friend arabian in the Help Japan fandom auction. It was the first time I'd done that and just felt good all around. Her story is filled true & believable characterization, a healthy dose of angst, as well as some smut, and grabbed me at the beginning and held me there for the whole, exciting ride. :)
Where Do We Go From Here
Finally, this post would not be complete without a DE road trip story. This comes from youcallitwinter's imagination and is an enjoyable read. There's just something about road trips being DE's thing, in my mind :)
