TVD 3.15 All My Children

Feb 18, 2012 20:16

This time around, I decided to make my rounds first and do a re-watch of the episode before posting.  Part of my reason for doing that was the emotional turmoil I found myself in last week.  I thought this process would allow me to come from a better place.

The thing that I enjoyed most was the return of snarky, quick-witted & tongued Damon.
I don't think he has never left. I think it just wasn't like that with Elena.

I think that's exactly the Damon to make her realize she's been taking him for granted and just how much she wants to rely on his never-changing love for her.
As you know I don't care if they end up together, meaning that I want him to be happy so if it won't be Elena I don't really mind, but I agree with you. She needs to realize that she can't take him from granted. Also, it's healthy for Damon too. He needs some time to accept that he has done his best but that he can't just stay there hoping for her to realize she loves him.

I'm so glad the show did not go for the obvious jealousy, rather they had her stay completely in character by having her exhibit her I-was-wrong-and-do-not-know-how-to-act side.
Agree here. She called him multiple times and when she tried to push him saying that he had to get over it, she wasn't expecting his reaction and she decide to go to see him. Then she got jealous and told everyone about Damon and Rebekah.

I believe she called Stefan mostly as a means to find out if Damon was okay, and a little to tell him again that she didn't want Elijah to go down with the rest of his sibling.
I agree but I think she called Stefan also because she was confused by his beahviour. It's like Elena's realizing that she could lose both of them.

Most of all, the look on her face when she's greeting by Damon & Rebekah, her tone of voice, and her immediately thinking that Damon was lashing out was her I-was-wrong-and-do-not-know-how-to-act side in full force giving us a clear view of her jealousy.
So much this!!!

All their scenes were based in the brothers' knowledge of each other, their effectiveness when they work together, Damon's desire to spare Stefan more guilt, and Stefan's ability to see through Damon.
I actually rolled my eyes when Stefan said that Damon still loved Elena. Of course he does. I can't believe Stefan had to ask. He knows his brother better than he showed in this episode.

Damon's belief that he was unable to win her fair and square just makes me sad.
Awww Damon...he was so wrong there. But I get why he felt that way. I am just happy that he didn't snap.
Ian rocked!

Word on Caroline.

I'm a little confused about the whole drinking human blood idea. Esther seemed to be suggesting that it was her children's choice to do that. Did she not make it a part of her spell? Why would they choose to be dependant on human blood if they didn't need to? It seems no condition or rule of the supernatural has any kind of permanence on this show (which is to be expected in a TV series).
Yeah...I think it was kinda a collateral damage none was expecting (since even Mikael needed blood and he fed up on vampipres, which fed up om humans, which is basically tha same thing) and then every one of them decided how to deal with it.

I didn't find Ric getting shot that great of a cliffhanger in the traditional sense.
Plus he has been killed countless in this show...

I'm actually fairly convinced that she is human and that Ric is then dead-dead. This should bother me more, but evidently I've lost interest in him as a character this season.
But I want him and Damon bak to be best friends...please.

I love your choices of quotes, but I still think Damon had the best lines of the episode :)

Thanks for commenting, sweetie :D

I understand why Damon feels that way, too. Good point that he did not snap. He's made so much progress in that respect.
Damon does tend to get the best lines pretty much all the time. I just like to throw in some other characters occasionally so they don't feel left out ;)

What Damon nees to understand now is that he is worthy. It doesn't mind if it won't be Elena, he must learn to respect himself and stop thinking that the world is right again when everything is in place but he still suffers.

I agree with you about the lines :)

Exactly about Damon and so eloquently put, sweetie!
He needs to stop with his premise that his suffering is acceptable and just the way it is.
