Well, it's been a good week :oD
After my hour's bike lesson on Monday, I felt much better about my afternoon lesson yesterday. We spent the time on the airfield, practising the manoeuvres for the off-road portion of the test; specifically the figure of 8, slalom, and u-turn, and then using both brakes to stop from speed in a straight line. In spite of the occasional torrential downpour (and discovering my trousers leak in the rear area), it went very well indeed. My control of the bike at slow speed is coming along nicely, and I'm beginning to stop panicking when there are things near me. I'm also learning not to keep looking at them, which is also a good start. We'll have some road time next week, after which point I'm hoping I'll feel up to actually going on the road on my own bike.
It would be nice, though, if it stopped piddling it down and being so windy. It's really not nice being on a bike in the wind! I do hope the weather will be better when we go to Scotland.
I also seem to have some sort of throat infection; it's really tickly and dry, and I'm very croaky. It's been hanging around for a few days and not responding to the usual sore throat lozenges, so I might have to go to the doctor's tomorrow. Grr.
pointless rambling,
