1. I hate, hate, HATE Adobe Reader 9 and X. They do nothing but hang and freeze constantly which is a total bitch when I’m trying to open PDFs in my browser. After trying to print a document five different times with it freezing on me, I finally downloaded a new PDF reader, Foxit, and I am a much happier duck.
2. I’m on a Bowie kick right now. I’ve been downloading music left and right. Mmm, the Thin White Duke. I feel so bad for loving that era but it was just…wow. So if you don’t hear from me in a while, know I’m lost in la la land.
3. Vampire Diaries is back! Vampire Diaries is back! Vampire Diaries is back! ::fangirl scream::
4. I’ve been experimenting with recipes for the last month or so, peppermint patties, pizza sauce, pizza crust, etc. I think I’ve finally gotten the pizza crust down pat. The trick (at least for me) is to 1) use bread flour, 2) let the baking stone heat while the oven is pre-heating, and 3) pre-bake the crust for 7-10 minutes, and 4) drizzle on olive oil and Italian seasoning when pre-baking. It sounds like a lot of work but it really takes no time at all to make. Plus, it tastes much better at a lower cost. Can’t ask for too much more than that.
5. Have you ever started a book and then start to lose interest the more you read? I hate when that happens. You are then left with a decision: to continue or to not. Ugh, I hate that! Right now I’m reading a book on the effects of advertising. It actually is interesting but I have another book coming in a few days that I know I’m going to drop everything for and another one coming the week after that that I’m going to drool over. I think I’m psyching myself out. Oh, well, I’ll continue until my book arrives on Wednesday and then all bets are off.
6. I started taking a multi-vitamin last week and was pleasantly surprised to find I have much more energy and sleep better at night. It’s kind of irritating to think my own irritation and fatigue was due to nothing more than insufficient vitamins and minerals. RME.
7. Why is tumblr so addictive? It just goes on and on and on.
8. I'm on the fence with Netflix. I'm quite ready to get rid of the thing all together but fate has decided to keep me on the train for another month. I've already downgraded due to their outrageous price hike this past month and honestly, they don't have anything that is wowing me in their streaming selection. Oh, well, the beat goes on.
