It's the Little Things
1. Finally, my dreams have come true. Instead of one of those ridiculous feasts that no one wants to sit through on Thanksgiving, we are opting for a semi-cookout - ribs, chicken, and snausages but we’ve managed to keep a few of the favorites like macaroni and cheese, dressing, and collard greens. Best Thanksgiving dinner ever.
2. So for the past week I’ve been playing possum with the DOL. I’ve been tied in knots this entire time. I think I might have won this go round. Or at least I’m crossing my fingers. Is it too much to ask for a job for Christmas? An actual, paying job that keeps me from under the thumb of the DOL. Best Christmas present ever.
3. Due to my withered economic forecast, I’ve done my Christmas shopping early and frugally. Most of the money is going to Lauren because seriously, Christmas is her holiday. However, I’m still struggling to figure out what to get my mother and she’s not a load of help. To be honest, I’m not sure what I want (if anything) for Christmas either. A lifetime supply of those powdered drink mixes from Wal-Mart? Hmm, now there’s a thought. I call dibs on Grape, Cranberry Apple, and Lemonade. Or you know, I could go for the first season of The Vampire Diaries. Or an overpriced duvet from Anthro. Yeah, I didn’t think anyone would go for that last one. One can always dream.
4. So, remember that disgusting little movie about a human centipede? Yeah, that’s available on Instant Streaming now. Yeah, no. Or in the words of Lauren, “No, no, no, no, no, no.”
5. I would absolutely kill for a red velvet cake right now. The other week, my SIL and her friends made mounds of red velvet cupcakes (among other flavors) and I am dying to have more. Unfortunately, I have nary a pack of cream cheese or pecans in the house and you cannot have red velvet without those two ingredients. O woe is me! Hopefully, she’ll take pity on me on Thanksgiving.
6. WTH Criminal Minds?! Normally, I’m able to roll with the punches while watching this show and am actually a little gleeful knowing no one is safe because that’s what happens in real life, but this last episode…no words. No fucking words. I never, ever, want to see this episode again.
7. It really is the little things…Netflix has She-Ra and Voltron on Instant Streaming. Omjeezus. Now if only Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Jem and the Holograms, Thundercats, and The Muppet Babies were available, me and my tv would be like this.
8. Yet another movie about the Kennedys? Would someone please explain to me the unending fascination with this family ‘cause I don’t get it. I would love, love for someone to do a story on the Roosevelts. Wouldn’t that be interesting? Or dramatize the rivalry between Burr and Hamilton? A backdrop on Harry Truman and WWII? Anything? Something?
9. Eee! I found my black Hue tights finally. They were stuffed in a drawer under my awesome argyle sock collection. LOL.
