On the old calendar, the feast of Santa Lucia lands on the shortest day of the year - Santa Lucia is then the celebration of light, that the darkness will not overcome the world, and that the light is returning to the world. I can imagine how this would be especially important in Scandinavia, where the days are so incredibly short in the winter...
And so, Happy Feastday of St. Lucy! May we all remember that the darkness will not take over the light, and that no matter where we are, hope is a candle keeping vigil until the days where there is no night.
Love you all,
Katja
