If you feel moved to donate to help the people in Haiti

Jan 15, 2010 23:24

One of my yoga friends sent me this email with several ways to help, and I felt moved by it, grammatical errors and all, so I am reposting it here:

We are all humans upon this beautiful earth. We are all one. So when one of our brothers or sisters needs us, we will be there!!!

Yeha's you all have heard about the disaster in HAITI. I know I don't need to describe the massive damage and suffering that this beautiful country is living as reality for the past days. So I choose to get right to it. We need to open our hearts and pure an abundance of love and energy to that country. In anyway shape or form lets truely be earth citizens and assist our brothers, sisters, cousins, daughters, sons, moms, dads, neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandparents, grandfathers and our fellow humans of that beautiful country.

I have gathered from different sources a list of ways you can donate money to help the cause. I know we can't all fly down and give our sweat, blood and tears, however we can part with as minimum as 5 dollars to help the relief efforts. Please, don't let the small thoughts stop you from acting. For it is not time for second guessing its time to give hope to a place where it feels like hope was never there.

So take advantage of this moment to show your true self and don't let it past by..... thinking someone else will help. It starts and ends with your action. SO WE CAN DO IT!

for any question please contact me via email facebook or just call.

Here are the many links/ideas to take action.

Partners in Health, an organization ISLP is working with, runs vital
health clinics in Haiti:

The OAS is calling for donations of support to the Caribbean country
to be made through PADF, an organization with more than 25 years of
experience in Haiti. PADF has more than 150 staff members in all of
Haiti that work on numerous projects related to, among other things,
community development, disaster mitigation and protecting human
rights. It has also participated in providing immediate and critical
aid on various occasions when other natural disasters have affected
the country. Donations may be made through:

ALSO: One can text the word "HAITI" (no quotation marks) to 90999 to

Please take action even the littlest thing by sharing this with as many people that you can.

Thank You for allowing me to intrude your mind and heart.

If you have any political opinions or criticism of this person's idealism, such opinions are valid, and feel free to post them on your own LJ, where I will happily read them. But I don't want them here.

Thanks and <3.
