Thanksgiving break was not as relaxing as I would have hoped.
I was away from Photoshop for two days so I spent my time doing research for my Seminar paper and my Art Ed project, both which are due on the 4th! I would be working on that now, but I've been spending as much time as possible without giving myself carpal tunnel on my photos for my crit. I am scheduled to present on the 30th, but I technically need to be ready by the 28th. Ugh. I still have work to do, but if I push, I can make it by Tuesday in getting the guts of the work and touching up before Thursday (if I do present that day).
Karen's brother, John, came in town. He has down syndrome. He kinda does his own thing like watch the Superman movies (the ones with Christopher Reeves) and then go downstairs and read the Bible and listen to the Monkees. We all pitched in helping him cut up his food and such, but otherwise it was fine. Diana had a friend of hers from Boston, who's originally from Australia, over our house. Josh is a hoot. I think he's like Joe, Dan's roommate, in a way. Similar hair style and fast-talkin'.
I think the one thing that was difficult with being home is how quiet the house is without Vinnie. *sniff*
Dan came over Thanksgiving night. Afterwords, I retreated to his house, silently gavomitted (that's gagging and vomiting at the same time--Thank you, Dr. Cox) my way through Gray's Anatomy (I swear they make up diseases half of the time) while his parents and grandma were watching. Later, Dan and I watched some Nip/Tuck, which is a really addicting show. Some of it is pretty graffic in terms of surgery so Dan has to cover my eyes during those parts. Otherwise, great show.
Dan and I braved the malls on Black Friday. We went in the afternoon to avoid the Tickle-Me-Elmo riots. Ran into friends from high school that work at Hot Topic. Later, went to Gweggie's Starbucks and gave him his Tool poster that I've been hanging onto since the concert. Got some coffee, kissed Dan g'bye and drove back to Richmond.
Been retouching images ever since...with breaks for food, some rest, and working on my mood theme for my new LJ. By the new year, I will be retiring this LJ and going to use
snappinshutters You can add me now. I might start posting in late December.
