Appearance:

As student (and more recently Master) of the Keyblade, Aqua keeps her appearance efficient yet feminine. She has blue eyes, blue hair and is of average height. On the side of her sleeves, she is wearing parts of her Keyblade armor, which she gave up in order to send Terra's body back to the Realm of Light.



Abilities:

→ Keyblade Wielder: As name suggest, Aqua is trained and able to handle the Keyblade and its magic. When not in use, it is stored in hammerspace until Aqua calls for it again. When she summons it, pink flower petals appear as it materializes.

Her own Keyblade's default form is Rainfell, but after using it to send Terra back to the Realm of Light, she had to fall back on her Master's Keyblade Master Keeper.

Master Keeper has a long reach, boosts her physical strength by 7 and her magic by 7. Like every Keyblade it is able to lock and unlock any and every door, barrier and lock in existence and with it, Aqua can open portals to the 'Lanes between', the secret pathways that exist between the worlds.

Like all Wielders of her generation, Aqua is able to sense the properties of one's heart (ie. whether it is leaning more towards the light or towards the darkness and what primary emotion is connected to that), she seems to be quite versed in that ability as she is easily recognizes the Darkness inside of Lady Tremaine and is able to sense Vanitas all across Neverland.

As Master of the Keyblade, Aqua is able to perform the Keyblade Inheritance Ceremony and pass on the Keyblade to a person she determines as worthy. She already passed it onto Kairi (though unintentionally) and has considered to make Sora her apprentice, but ultimately decided against it.

→ Battle Commands: Aqua has less direct battle commands than Terra or Ventus, but most of those she has are infused with magic.

→ Magic: Magic is Aqua's strongest stat - she tends to weave it in most her attacks. She appears to be very gifted as she is able to weave magic into the Wayfinders and laid a protection charm on Kairi's necklace just by touching it. She has many battle spells to call upon:

→ Action- and Finish Commands: As already mentioned, Aqua tends to infuse magic in all parts of her battle actions. She is able to create 360° barriers without using up magic.

Aqua's Ultimate Finish Command is called Teleport Spike and creates several magical spheres between which she teleports as she bats them at her opponents.

→ Shotlocks: Like her fellow students, Aqua is capable of using long range techniques, called Shotlocks, that can target multiple enemies and make her invincible for a short time. Shotlocks can show a certain elemental affinity and there are three that are unique to Aqua:

Bubble Blaster
Prism Rain
Lightbloom

→ D-Links: Thanks to the magic that she used when she crafted the Wayfinders, Aqua is able to create and use Dimension Links, D-Links for short. A D-Link allows her to borrow the another character's power; even if they are in another world. In order to create a D-Link she has to befriend or form some sort of connection to the character. The more a D-Link is used the more powerful it becomes.

Aqua has formed D-Links with several people over his journey: Terra, Ventus, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Snow White, Cinderella, Zack, Experiment 626, Peter Pan and Pete.

→ Command Styles: A Command Style is a power that is activated after use of a number of uses of certain magic or battle commands. They boost the power of normal combos and depending on what on Style is used also the strength of the element it represents. There are two level of Command Styles, the second can only by accessed while Aqua is in a Level 1 Style; though all Styles can be activated by eating the corresponding sort of Ice Cream from the shop in Disney Town.

Diamond Dust - Activated by using blizzard based commands
Thunderbolt - Activated by using thunder based commands

Blade Charge - Activated by using fire-, blizzard- or strike based commands
Rhythm Mixer - Activated by using thunder-, mine- or strike based commands
Sky Climber - Activated by using dash- or gravity based commands

Special Command Styles:
Frozen Fortune - Randomly activated by using Ice Cream Items from Disney Town

Personality:

"The three of us will always be one."
As one of the three apprentices of Eraqus, Aqua is the balance between Terra's silent strength and Ventus' cheerful manner. She is the one who worries about them, who mothers and teases them. She is the most level headed of the three of them, responsible, humble and caring.

While she is the first (and only) of the three to pass the Mark of Mastery Exam, she doesn't consider herself as such and only refers to herself as 'Master Aqua' when she confronts the by Xehanort possessed Terra at the end of the game. While she is a firm follower of Eraqus' absolute light philosophy, she is not above listening to other advice (like heeding the Fairy Godmother's advice not to directly battle darkness with light as a great light will always call for great darkness).

Like Terra, she appears to have spent most of her life in the Land of Departure, training under Master Eraqus. While she isn't quite as gullible as her fellow apprentice, she still gets quite flustered at times when put in situations that are not related to her duties as Keyblade Wielder - for example when asked for a date by Zack. She is extremely polite and very respectful towards her elders and figures of authority.

Aqua is extremely duty bound; As Keyblade Master she first and foremost is tasked to protect the balance between Darkness and light and fight 'agents of Darkness' such as the Unversed - even at the costs of being at odds with her friends or eventually battling them. Despite that, though it might appear differently, her friends are the most important to her. She is primarily thinking of her friends and their safety, when she accepts the responsibilities to watch over Terra and bring back Ventus.

Her efforts aren't met with understanding as Terra closes himself off and Ven accuses her of having become arrogant due her new status as Keyblade Master. However, as she travels Aqua starts to realize that perhaps she needs to let go a little, let both of them find their own way.

However that doesn't make her any less protective of them in the face of threats like Vanitas or Xehanort. She appears to be rather reckless when their safety is concerned as she doesn't hesitate to reach for Ven when he is blown away by the force of the x-blade or to jump after Terra's body as it is drawn into the Realm of Darkness and send him back at the cost of being trapped there herself.

While Aqua is primarily considered to be an agent of the light, it doesn't mean she doesn't have a dark side. She is very capable of becoming angry and even furious, especially when people important to her are threatened. Even though she hides it well, she also is rather uncertain at times - constantly worrying over her friends, doubting herself and her actions even if she believes to act for the well being of others.

Her time in the Realm of Darkness also had its influence on her, first slowly robbing her of her smile causing her to wonder whether she wasn't better off 'fading into the darkness' until her bonds to Terra and Ven rescue her. Reassured by the light of their shared friendship, her 'dream' is now to find a way to return to the Realm of Light and reunite with her friends.

Roleplay Sample - Log:

There is no real light down here in the Realm of Darkness, despite what the purplish glowing stones appeared to emit. They brightened the pathways, but none of them held the warmth that Aqua remembered from back home, none of its comfort.

It was disconcerting, especially since she could feel it eat on her, felt as the darkness drained away any and every good thought in her - of home, of her friends, of the future. What remained was hopelessness and despair and the silent whisper whether she shouldn't just give in, just let those dark creatures take her and let the darkness give her peace.

(It made her wonder, just a little... was this what Terra had felt whenever he had called upon the darkness? Had he too been promise to be drawn into blissful nothingness, to remain there forever and be free of worry or sadness?)

She couldn't give up, however, not when she had no idea what happened to Terra and could only hope that he had arrived safely back in Radiant Garden, not when Ven was waiting in that castle she had changed, in that castle that had once been their home.

They were the reason why she could go on, why she still could smile.

They were her light in this terrible darkness.

This is why she knew there'd be a way, a door that would lead her back to the light. And one day - perhaps close, perhaps far away - one day, she would find it and step back into the light she missed so dearly.

Roleplay Sample - Journal:

[Aqua is careful as she activates the device, a little uncertain considering the things she has heard about this place. She has no idea where exactly she has been transported to, or how for that matter. She has no idea how much time has passed since she had first entered the Realm of Darkness.

Not that any of that matters now; she has one friend to find and one to return to.

...She isn't quite sure yet how to do that without a Keyblade, but she is certain she can figure something out in time.]

So... if I understood everything right, we are all prisoners of this place?

[She frowns displeased at the thought, worried about what she has heard to now, about her friends, about what this means for all the people trapped here, just like them. She shakes her head.]

Excuse me... I should have introduced myself. My name is Aqua and if anyone here is in need of any kind of magical assistance, I'd be glad to provide.

However, there is someone I have to find first...

I'm looking for a friend. He has brow... [No, that wasn't right, was it? Xehanort had changed him...] silver hair and yellow eyes. He is pretty tall and should be wearing an armor like this. [She points at the metal pieces at her sleeve.] His name is Terra.

Please... if you have seen him, tell me. I need to find him...

[She has left Ven waiting for long enough, after all.]

This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function?

As trained Keyblade Master, Aqua generally should be in the physical and mental condition to withstand torture. Her abilities include 40% resistance to Fire-, Ice-, Thunder- and Darknessbased Magic/Attacks, Second Chance, Once More and Leaf Bracer - former two protecting her life from the first killing blow/combo and making her invulnerable to damage while casting Cure/Cura/Curaga.

While her journey has led her to doubt her ability at times, she is generally confident and after being saved by Terra's and Ven's Keyblade in the Realm of Darkness, she is assured by the knowledge that even though they are apart, their connection remains strong and unbroken, boosting her confidence and will to return to the Realm of Light.

Things shouldn't be much different in the facility, though having both of her best friends already in game will only add to her resolve to eventually break free and return to their home with both of them.

But even, if neither of them were there, since Aqua is a generally friendly and open person, she should have little trouble befriending other 'rats'. As long as she has other people to protect and share her feelings with, she will know herself able to stand up to anything.
