2010 and the Storms that hit Victoria

Oh my......

It has been near 2 months since my last posting on LJ and this is what has been happening.

In December the Wadaiko Rindo concert went well in fact I am keeping my record of breaking Bachi sticks at these concerts! lol....

But the Sunbury Community Carols by candlelight went well as well, didn't have a good end of the 2009 with the Sunbury SES and was wondering what has changed for the worse but then 2010 should be better. Anyway christmas was good and having fun with friends and going to cricket matches (GO Vics)..

Anyway that was December in a short form you never want me do this day by day thing!

2010 started with massive callouts for the SES with storms hitting us on the 1st Jan. So we have been only active when we have had storms which is good for us, but then if you are qualified in both RCR (Road Crash Rescue) and Storm Damage you wonder how you are going to get your skills up there!

Been back to Melbourne Rainbow Band on the Thursday Nights and have been performing at Midsumma Carnival, Joy Melbourne Picnic at Mt. Macedon and Pride March. so that has led up to Feb where we are right now.

For the past two days Victoria got hit with massive Storms and flash flooding, I was called out to these jobs and on Wednesday it was very busy. We had assistance from Melton, Brimbank, Essendon SES units and it was great for them to help out. The good news out of those callouts was that I was commended for my actions as Crew Leader, which totally blew me away cause I did everything that I have been taught to do. But then on Thursday, we were called out again but this time after the first job I became ill and as we were at our second job I was feeling really bad and had to go home and have been off duty for over 24hrs until I get better.

It hurts that you are limited to get yourself better before going back onto duty but it has to be done first things first look after yourself. So as I am typing this I am feeling not fully well but getting on the mends which is good.

So I am looking forward to SES this year which is my 9th year of Service. I have ben honored by the crew members that I work with and the things I learn on a day to day basis. Strange things happened on the Wednesday Night callouts but that is something that I will talk later on it's all good but it was something that our training staff member needs to act on. :P

Anyway looking forward to Uni this year Cert 2 in Applied Languages Japanese is going to be interesting. Oh, that reminds me. If you are my close friends then you will understand when I say that I am trying to get my health back up again so I can work harder to get my transistion done and hopefully looking better for the future.
