I agree with kao_ko. Carl, you're a great son and wonderful person too. I understand what you're saying. My parents have paid for everything for me and getting a job was on my own merit, whether they liked it or not. I really respect what you're doing here, wanting to work hard to pay for college yourself and all, and I think your parents will too. It sounds like you have really supportive and loving parents anyway. (They sure seemed that way when I met them. They're so proud of you!) And I think that, even though you're going to do all of this (bravo!) on your own, they will be there if you need them. You're just growing up and starting to understand things better. (i.e. the concept of money) That's how I feel about myself at the moment too. And the fact that you're taking this leap of responsibility without being pushed is just great. I know many parents who would love to have a kid with determination like you.
