Wow, i was wondering why I had some issues with that book, but you pinpointed it. The main caharacters become annoying as hell and it's a tad bit easily resolved and Anti-Climatic.
I think whether or not I read any more of her books depends on the next one. They're becoming very cliche but not very endearing. She doesn't take very many chances, though the Dove thing was pheonominal. I'd like to see more about the royal kids and the fact that they're expected to marry for the kingdom and the oldest two have fallen instantly in love with their assigned partner. What if they don't want to? What if Jon made them? I would love to see the angst there.

Yeah--they seem more and more like, "Oh, everything worked out perfectly! Hooray!" And, certainly, I wonder about Kalasin, because she really wanted to be the first real Lady Knight--I would be a little miffed about having to trade that for marrying someone I didn't know very well. She could definitely flesh out some of those things, and they would make for good stories.

I'm kind of interested to read her next series, though, the "Provost's Dog" one. It sounds a bit like she'll be writing about the lower classes, which I always like. (Really, what I want to see is someone completely unspecial. Probably something I'll have to write myself.)
