Japanese translation requested

I'm browsing the website for the Japanese ご当地フォルムカード (regional shaped cards). For the most part I'm able to understand the descriptions of each card, but on this one I'm having trouble since a lot of the words are not in my dictionary. 木彫りの熊（北海道）

道南・八雲に徳川牧場を作った徳川義親が、1921年に渡欧の際に購入したスイス製の木彫りの熊に由来。副業として奨励され、道内で流行。熊撃ち名人・松井梅太郎が「シャケをくわえた熊」を作り、昭和40年代に大ブームに。
