I've tried looking around, but I can't find a translation of this song. I don't need a literal translation - i just would like to have a general idea what they're singing about.

I *think* the song is in spanish, but.. i really don't know ^^;

Ha ha ha! The name of this song is "Caballo viejo". His author is Simón Diaz, a Venezuelan singer. "Bamboleo" is an adaptation made by Gipsy King, a Spanish group.

The original song lyrics "Caballo Viejo"

CUANDO EL AMOR LLEGA ASI DE ESTA MANERA
UNO NO SE DA NI CUENTA
EL CARUTAL REVERDECE
EL GUAMACHITO FLORECE
Y LA SOGA SE REVIENTA

CABALLO LE DAN SABANA
PORQUE ESTA VIEJO Y CANSAO
PERO NO SE DAN DE CUENTA
QUE UN CORAZON AMARRAO
CUANDO LE SUELTAN LAS RIENDAS
ES CABALLO DESBOCAO

Y SI UNA POTRA ALAZANA
CABALLO VIEJO SE ENCUENTRA
EL PECHO SE LE DESGRANA
NO LE HACE CASO A FALSETA
Y NO LE OBEDECE A FRENO
NI LO PARAN FALSAS RIENDAS

CUANDO EL AMOR LLEGA ASI DE ESTA MANERA
UNO NO TIENE LA CULPA
QUERERSE NO TIENE HORARIO
NI FECHA EN EL CALENDARIO
CUANDO LAS GANAS SE JUNTAN

CABALLO LE DAN SABANA
Y TIENE EL TIEMPO CONTAO
Y SE VA POR LA SABANA
CON SU PASITO APURAO
A VERSE CON SU POTRANCA
QUE LO TIENE EMBARBASCAO

EL POTRO DA TIEMPO AL TIEMPO
PORQUE LE SOBRA LA EDAD
CABALLO VIEJO NO PUEDE
PERDER LA FLOR QUE LE DAN
PORQUE DESPUES DE ESTA VIDA
NO HAY OTRA OPORTUNIDAD.

comprementa: I don't know what it is. Maybe it is a mispelled "compraventa"

That's what I always thought they said "compraventa/ compra y venta", like your love is up for sale. Gypsy Kings pronounce things weird, so even though it's technically Spanish, it sounds like some sort of creole language.

And I just learned, after growing up listening to their music all of my life, lol, that they are French! Might explain their "odd" pronunciation of Spanish, hehe.
