Song translation to english? please?

Feb 19, 2009 20:11

I've tried looking around, but I can't find a translation of this song. I don't need a literal translation - i just would like to have a general idea what they're singing about.

I *think* the song is in spanish, but.. i really don't know ^^;

Bamboleo, by Gypsy King

It is Spanish.

This love comes in this way/manner
Don't have the blame
The horse sees the savannah
Because it is very depreciated
For this they do not excuse you to cry
This love comes in this way/manner
Don't have the blame
Love of comprementa
Love of last month
Bebele, bembele, bembele

Swaying, swaying
Because, my life, I prefer to live this way
Swaying, swaying
Because, my life, I prefer to live this way
Don't have the pardon from God
You are my life, the fortune of destiny
But destiny is for two
The same as yesterday
The same am I
Don't find you abandoned
It's impossible to not find the truth
For this, one day shall not find with nothing
The same as yesterday
I think of you

Swaying, swaying
Because, my life, I prefer to live this way
Swaying, swaying
Because, my life, I prefer to live this way

Swaying, swaying
Because, my life, I prefer to live this way
Swaying, swaying
Because, my life, I prefer to live this way

Some words I have never heard, so I did not know the meaning (they were bolded.) 'My life/mi vida' is an endearing term such as 'my love' or 'baby.' I, of course, may have gotten some things wrong, but overall I'm confident in my translation. :)

Weird, I was just reading a short story in Spanish and I couldn't figure out why the author used "Mi vida" the way they did and now it makes sense. What a coincidence. :)

Haha, yes, that would be a term no one would normally understand when translated directly. Glad it helped. :)

Comprementa makes sense if it's supposed to be complementa. Non-initial R and L are kinda blurred in some dialects.

Oh, that makes sense! Yes, some words were shortened and blurred in the lyrics.

Bembele is like lalala... one of those weird things people use in songs xD
And comprementa... he says "compra y venta"... but his Spanish is not correct (Some dialectal pronuntiation and bad grammar)... it poses difficulties even for a native Spanish speaker xD
