The gold of an Oriental night flows
The so-gentle perfume of the orange trees' flowers
Jasmine tea perfumes her skin
Thousands of diamonds roll
Seated like an idol at the edge of the water
Her copper skin even attracts the boats
She is far too beautiful, these walls far too high
Even if she is faithful to their desires
She would like to at least choose
To live like a queen
Or to be a siren
When the sun rises
The night falls to its knees
The maddest of dreams shines at her neck
On the roof of the palais, she harvests stars
Leila, the angels have veils
She learned to speak this language
That only the sultans are allowed to learn
The eyes veiled, the body half naked
She dances and with no holding back
Smiles but thinks of leaving
To live like a queen
Or to be a siren
When the sun rises
The night falls to its knees
The maddest of dreams shines at her neck
On the roof of the palace, she harvests stars
Leila, the angels have veils
She feels like a bird
Would leave but would return soon
She could finally choose
To live freer... Leila
She will finally choose to live like a queen
Or to be a siren
When the sun rises
The night falls to its knees
The maddest of dreams shines at her neck
On the roof of the palais, she harvests stars
Leila, the angels have veils

Whoops. Palais = palace, obviously. Duh.
I think from memory that Lara Fabian has been known to sing in Italian, French, English, and Spanish? I once had a friend who was a big fan but that was a long time ago.
